Which Size is Right?
It's important to understand which size is right for you. Consider the following:
- How high is the sign going to be?
- How is it going to be mounted?
- How many people are going to see it?
- How visible is your location?
Helpful Hints:
Choose small or medium if:
- Your sign is below eye level
- Your sign will be mounted under your mailbox
Choose medium if:
- Your sign will be arm mounted to a 4"x4" post
- Your sign is at eye level
Choose large if:
- Your sign will be displayed above eye level
- Your sign will be mounted to a 6" x 6" post
Remember, consider where your sign will be mounted because it will impact the visual effect and readability. If your sign is in a busy location and many people can see it, you want to make sure that it is very easy for people to read. The basic rule is the larger the sign, the easier it will be for people to see.
If your location is shady or typically in a dark space, it's important that your sign be large enough for people to read from the distance they normally would see it. If the viewer is more than five feet away, a large sign is recommended. If the viewer will be within arms length, a small sign would be appropriate.
